The first table shows whether it is permissible to end a polysyllabic noun with a particular combination of vowel and consonant. For example, can you create a noun that ends with ep? Look at the intersection of the e column and the p row. The symbol there indicates that ep is already in use as a suffix or particle. Therefore you cannot create a noun ending in -ep. How about -at? The chart indicates that nouns ending with -at are perfectly acceptable. The second table keeps track of two-letter CV morphemes such as da and ti. |
