Perhaps for you it is, but I have never understood why it was called
"mouse". It doesn't even vaguely resemble a mouse to me. I guess I can
see the tail part, but I don't see how it looks anything more like a
mouse as opposed to any other tailed animal. I think that's why "mice"
sounds weird to me. I think of it as a mere homophone of "mouse" the
rodent.
