Even soap does not always help. > Just a few ideas :) Not language related, but smell related (might be interesting to read for you, Geoff): Do you know Patrick Süskind's "Das Parfum" (The Perfume)? The story takes place in France during the reign of Louis XIV. The protagonist, Jean-Baptiste Grenouille, a bastard, born by a market woman, has no own body odour, but can smell a thousand times better than ordinary people -- he is a genius in a way, but his character is absolutely absurd, he is totally crazy and very cruel. Grenouille's master plan is to brew a truely vicious perfume made from the body odour of 24 (26?) virgins that makes people love him although he's the personified evil. I found this book quite entertaining, but since we had to read it in class two years ago, many people didn't like it.
