Well, fashionable gentlemen in town wear a "trays" or suit: a kind of short "tunecca" (shirt) shoved into "brech" (trews) with a "pals" (cloak) or "palsarmus" (cloak with arms). Imported "pleid" from Scotland are popular amongst certain rebellious youths. At Court, the Judge sports a "toga dubba" (black toga), the defense a "toga keru" (blue), the prosecution a "toga rudda" (red) and the jurors "toga vidda" (white). Kings and queens in old stories had fancier duds: "sona d'arew blanch", a belt of white bronze; "pals de mhareteren dhubh", a cloak of black sable; "anouls d'or perry guthelych", a ring of gold round the neck; "camessa", fine quality tunic; "combrech", arm rings; "calelles", shoes; "armilles", bracelets; "oses", hosen; "camessa de lains berrech", fine and soft wool tunic; "pals de pel le arth", bear skin cape; "cathen le argent blanch ambel ngutheluch", a chain of white silver about the throat; "sona le bombech precios de nCathai", precious Cathayan silk girdle. That's fairly exhaustive at this point. Padraic.
