Just a small note on "maganda" (the -ng is a linker, BTW), is that it actually means "beautiful". So, "magandang umaga" literally means "beautiful day". I've also seen "kumusta" written and said as "kamusta". Kamusta/kumusta is interesting because my Tagalog teacher says this comes from "como está". Salamat is of course related to selamat from Indonesian.
