Thanks for your comments, folks. I'm totally used to people thinking my
hobby is odd (or even childish), but no one's ever called it (or me, in this
context) stupid before, and it riled me.

It just occurs to me that anything creative and artistic is, from some
warped viewpoint, futile and stupid. Most people stop drawing and painting
when they grow up, yet artists in general don't get accused of being
childish. They aren't, of course, any more than we are.

We just never allowed the "adult" world (you know the one: they think that
money, guns and sex are more important than love, joy and peace) to smother
our imaginations.

Imagine on.
