I appreciate the compliment, Henrik, especially coming from so discerning
a conlanger, not to mention the author of the admirable Qthyn|gai (sp.? -
I'm going on memory here). As for Ithkuil's number system, I will
certainly take a close look at it when I go to revise the language (won't
be for a few years probably, as I'm currently busy writing a novel).
However, I have to admit I just don't have the aesthetic problem you do
regarding the use of incremental number bases. While the Tyl Sjok system
does seem elegant in terms of "symmetry", I wonder regarding ease of
intuitiveness/comprehension on the part of speakers....
