Well, "double gender" kind of makes it sound like two different genders,
like a system I once experimented with where there were two gender
*systems*, one that had three genders, marked by suffixes, and one that
had eight genders, marked by prefixes, and all combinations were
possible.  One of the two systems had verbal agreement, and both had
adjectival agreement.  I can't remember all the details.  But, other
than that, "double gender" sounds pretty good.

Also, I think "epicene" sounds better, just because it sounds more
scientific than "common".  :-)
