Keep in mind that there are a number of people who do both artlanging
and auxlanging.  I think the antagonism you're referring to is between
any individual of the "my language is so perfect and ideal that all
people of the world should learn to speak it now and all criticism is
foolish and contrary to the revolution" camp and everyone else on earth,
not necessarily between people who like making artlangs and those who
make auxlangs.  There are plenty of mature, realistic people on both
sides, and some not-so-mature.
