Don't assume automatically that everyone uses Windows :-)

What I do (in X) is press the index-finger mouse button (the right
one in my case, but right-handed people have the left one) and drag
along the text to select it.

This is a stopgap solution, of course; dark background colours (and
background pictures, however vague) make text hard to read, and have
sometimes put me off reading a page altogether. I must admit that I
haven't looked at yl-ruil's page yet, so I can't comment on that
specific case.
