"How old is Waponi language, BTW?"

I think, as Andrew pointed out, that the language would have to have
originated sometime in the 1st century AD before Druids were suppressed
(although, I suppose that these Druids could have been galley slaves...). A
1st century date works for me as well.

"I checked the Waponi website. Is this movie for real, or a Borgesian
fantasy? If real, how available is it-- my local Blockbuster maybe?
Comedy, Drama or what?? (It seems to be right in line with out recent
discussion of camp.)"

The film is quite real - it's fairly mainstream (and yes, it is
extremely camp) so you will find it at your local Blockbuster. It would
probably be best described as a "Romantic Comedy" (one of those - starring
Tom Hanks, of course).

Josh added (regarding Waponi phonology):
"I agree with Chollie: approximants are seemingly nothing more than a
hindrance when it comes to deciding whether or not to make them vowels,
semi-vowels or consonants. Though they exist in Kartesian, I had thought a
couple of times to exclude them. Future languages by me will most likely
not include R and L."

Well, then, it is settled. We'll introduce two linguistic conspiracies
- one to rid the Waponi language of its approximants, and another to
shoe-horn it into a CVCVCV structure. We also need a list of small (CV?
VC?) particles (Greek, Latin, or otherwise) that would mark for things like
tense, aspect, and number once we do away with the inflectional categories
of Classical Latin.
