It is certainly hugely annoying that whereas wikipedia articles seem generally to end up written by reasonably competent people, they are policed by tossers with scant knowledge and much prejudice. I think that's one of the things that get wikipedia contributors angriest -- impotent rage at being at the mercy of the ignorant but opinionated. But it's a fault intrinsic to the organization of wikipedia, & Conlang is one victim among such a large mutltitude of others that a protest seems pointless. But does Conlang list warrant a wikipedia entry? (1) It was the conduit for establishing the online conlanging community. (2) It continues to have a certain centrality and prestige in the conlanging community. (3) The name of the mailing list is the origin of the term "conlang" (in the sense that people began calling conlangs "conlangs" because the mailing list was called "conlang"). To my mind, (1-3) warrant a mention of the Conlang list in the entry for Conlang = Invented Language, but don't necessarily warrant an entry devoted to the list itself. --And.
