Irish Gaelic uses an idiom: Ta' leabhar agam. Is book at-me. I have a book. And also an idiom for "to own": Is liom an leabhar. Is with-me the book. I own the book. Those of my conlangs that are far enough along to tell all seem to have a specific verb that means "to have."
