For those who _thinkee gun bettah_: a gun would be good but only for as
long as one has ammo or ammo-making resources (perhaps some kind of a "Low
Tech" ballistic handgun).
Accidents always seem to happen in time-travels to the deep, dark,
brutish past... tons of travellers' tales with unexpected delays in departure
or, worse, being trapped "back then" long-term or "marooned in time."

RESPONSE #1
::visceral-aesthetic shudder at that possibility/brain-stunned cerebral
refusal of that possibility::
EEK! Oh Uh, Cosmic Toxic Shock!
I find myself seriously prayin' to & arguin' with my Higher Power(s) that
_better not_ be the case. If it is so, the Cosmos is _waaay_ stranger than
any possible, potential human "fiction(s)."
RESPONSE #2
::after calming down a bit, Taoist reverse breathing meditation followed by
throat-singing, hehe::
Mayhaps in another universe where logic, common sense, the laws of
physics and other space-time matter(s) are rather differing to that which
exists "here" in this particular corner-universe in the Cosmic neighborhood...
