Next paragraph:
"The second distinction is that countable things are divided in human
and non-human; the human class is called ‘h’ and the non-human
countable class ‘x’ (all humans are countable, of course). Third, the
human class is split into masculine and feminine: ‘hm’ and ‘hf’."
This is, indeed, quite a find.
