In The Netherlands, we have a hamlet called America, a name we also commoly
use to refer to the USA. Since we do not have the habit of adding names of
countries, states or in our case provinces to the name, it can be highly
confusing.

"We went to America for the holidays?"
"Oh, I thought you didn't like planes?"
"I don't, we went by bike"
"Huh?'"

etc.
