It all depends. Race is a stupid thing in this country, and
wastes a lot of the nation's time and effort. There are those who
will call you "A-A" based on the "one drop rule" (a nonexistent
rule which more or less says you're black if you have any African
heritage in the last several centuries). Yet they will _never_
call anyone White based on the same rule. Africans fresh off the
boat are also A-A; really dark Indians are, too, it seems. Same
with really dark Berbers or Italians; not to mention Australians.
I'd like it if we could just drop the whole nonsense. Those who
bitch and whine most about the deplorible race relations in the
US are generally those that play the race card every hand and
constantly stick their raciality in everyone's face all the time.
If they'd just let up and let everyone be American, I bet the
whole thing would die a timely death within a generation or two.
