I'm giving a very close version (slightly shorter) of the talk I gave in
Florida last March, which I did circulate privately. David, if you want
to
see the newest version, I'll give you the URL when I refine it. I got a
lot of
good criticism from people who caught some mistakes. Caveat: this isn't
a published paper, and doesn't have the structure of one. It will
depend
on venue, of course, before it takes any final form. I need to decide
whether that venue will be linguistic or cultural studies, or media
studies, or what. But since it is "in progess," as it were, I haven't
posted it publically. If anybody wants to see it they can ask me for
the URL privately and I'll gladly give it to them with the request that
they not circulate it.
