Indeed. Some say he had found the Philosopher's Stone, and that he is still
alive today ;))) (and that he had various identities before being known at
the Comte de Saint Germain :) ). Eco makes a very nice treatment of this
mysterious figure in his novel "Foucault's Pendulum".
