Doesn't sound too far off from some of the ideas I've played with.
Nihongurishi was something I came up with one day. It's essentially
English, but with a phonology similar to Japanese.

I come up with scenarios like this all the time. Let's apply feature X
from language A to language B. Yes, it becomes much more interesting
when the two languages have little in common.
