Gate, from the Anglo-Saxon or the Norse?
One is the place in the wall, the other is the place in the
wall, and the road leading to and through thr hole in wall..
Hayden = hill of hay or ..
Or more fun, it places that are named for those who was here
before, like the native americans, many who are now long gone.
Why I have odd times when talking to people in the UK, trying to
figure out how some towns names can be traced back to the
ancestors of Welsh/Cornish/Breton and like.. And how the name
survives? It just does..
Algonquin, or Denali..
