I'm no expert, but here are some Swedish examples: -sta "settlement", often spelt _-stad_ by association with _stad_ "city". -vi "place of sacrifice" -ryd, -röd, -red, all variants for "new settlement" -tuna "enclosure", cognate with En. _town_. -hamn "harbour" -by "village" -holm "islet" -torp "fence", looks like it's related to German _Dorf_ "village". -hem "home" -måla, probably ="demarcated area" -åker "field", cf latin _ager_ (and English _acre_?) -landa, -land "land" -ör "gravel, gravelly riverbank" -hult "copse" (related to German _Holz_ "wood (material)"?) -arv "inheritance" Andreas
