Didn't the AmigaVision language do this?
It is two-dimensional. Its just that two-dimensional data could potentially
be stored in text format.

I don't know how AmigaVision works, but if one wants to use a graphical
language, I'd much rather go all the way and enjoy the two-dimensional
layout (or maybe later even three-dimensional ;)) ) by using a flow based
programming language like LabVIEW.
