The principal pitfall of syllabic scripts is that they only work in
language with _very_ restricted syllable structures, like Japanese. A
possibility I like is a Zhuyin zimu-style system, which uses separate
characters for the initials, and completely different ones for the final
parts, which are not analysed. But Skuodian can't have a syllabary for
both phonotactial and historical reasons.
