I know it is, but I have a (bad) tendency to interchange the two words in
that context. By 'alphabet', I meant 'a set of characters used to describe
the sounds of a language,' which has nothing to do with it's treatment of
phonemic characters vs. syllabic ones. Still, that use is probably
incorrect. i apoligize.
