I think this is your problem. Windows bitmaps (*.bmp) have an alpha
channel (transparency), which may be where your black is going in the
Lview conversion. Instead of saving them as bitmaps in MS Paint, try
saving them as TIFF (.tif) or something else, and then convert them.
