I've always heard "drink" used for liquid medicines. I view drink as
ingesting a liquid.
Sometimes the utensils seem to make a difference though. "Eat" tends to
be
used for stuff from bowls, while "drink" for stuff from cups.
(My dialect is Australian English.)
