Sounds a lot like the "Kauderwelsch" series, which are cheap, small, not more complicated than necessary for a traveler, and available for just about any language, complete with audio-cassette. They're written in German, though. =P My mother learned a good deal of Malay that way, which was a great help during our two trips to Malaysia. Hati-hati di jalan raya! ;-) -- Christian Thalmann
