Ah, yes! I remember this from the Philippines too. New Zealand also sent their rations of real butter to the Philippines in cans. This was the only real butter you could get in the Philippines for some time until Lurpak was imported packed in conventional wrapping. The canned butter was more practical in the tropics, however. Lurpak always went bad, even in the supermarket's refrigerated shelves. -kristian- 8)
