Da Mätz se Basa is aposteriori (derived mainly from Modern High German),
and this is quite unsurprising: it uses the preposition meaning 'before':
Firni wo Monat was ich äna Kota höma.
for-ni in-da
before-some two month was i in-the city EMPH.
'Two month ago I was in the city.'
The language tends to use emphatic complement particles just a bit too
often...
Tyl Sjok uses a temporal verb _hw_ 'to happen at _' plus _jo_ 'I;
here; now' and _sin_ 'start; before':
Jo kju oke hw jo hing sin.
I go-to garden happen-at I long before.
'I went to the garden long ago.'
My other grammars do not yet specify how to translate 'ago'.
