Klingon uses "<measurement of time> ret" for the general case of
"<measurement of time> ago", but has special words for "days ago",
"months ago", and "years ago" which merely take a number, so "three
months ago" is simply {wej wen} (three months-ago) rather than {wej
jar ret} (three month ago).
I believe that those special words can also be used without a numeral
for a generic sense, as in "[an unspecified number of] years ago, X
happened".
