Good question. :-)
But seriously, I can understand the critics' POV, even if I don't agree
with them. I mean, when you get right down to it, we're a pretty odd
bunch of people. I mean, making up imaginary worlds and languages?
What's it accomplish? Who can appreciate it, only ourselves. With art
or gardening, other, non-artists and non-gardeners can appreciate it.
Of course, one could say the same thing about those critics. Other than
other critics, who really listens to them? :-)
But, I think conlanging's a pretty harmless madness, y'know? :-)
