On the contrary - I don't think of auxlangs as 'stupid' in the slightest. It's
a noble pursuit, and as one who can rarely leave well-enough alone when there's
even a slight improvement to be made, I can appreciate it. I have noticed that
the subject draws considerably more vitriol than conlangs; I would guess that
that is because compared to conlangs, which can be artistic ventures, auxlangs
have a more concrete and theoretically 'perfect' goal in mind of universal
communication, therefore the aim is more scientific. Alas, the features of such
a theoretically 'perfect' language are still very open to debate.
