this but not others I composed afterwards.]

Before I respond to (or read) the content of this already pretty wordy
thread, I'd like to say that I wrote it several years ago, and have
not updated it in a long time.

For the most part, I still stand by what I wrote, but should point out that:
a) I've thought of new / revised things since then, mostly
cognitive-linguistics / cogsci based;
b) it describes *my* ideal language (no guarantees of universality of
my desiderata); and
c) they are meant as tradeoffs - not all of the Principles can be 100%
fulfilled simultaneously. (In this sense, it's somewhat like
"optimality theory" AFAIK).
