In Rav Zarruvo I use two tones in six textures (high, low, rising,
falling, rising and falling, and falling and rising) to differentiate
vowels, turning the four basic vowels into a total of 24. (I forget the
word for that -- you all know it, of course -- phonemic?) Thus the
low-tone 'o (either-or) is different from the rising and falling 'o (and-or).
