It was a meeting in 1521 at Worms of the Reichstag, the Imperial German
legislative/judicial body.  Martin Luther was called to answer for his
written works before it.  Supposedly, he closed his speech with
"Hier steh' ich; ich kann nicht anders. Gott hilf mir; Amen."
("Here I stand, I cannot do otherwise.  God help me, Amen.")
