Another example of the political incorrectness (despite the very liberal worldview) of my FourHorse project... the so-called 'Gypsies', including non-Roma who adopt the lifestyle out of romanticism, are stereotyped as being psychics and fortune-tellers, but the Techs actually are a race with psychic abilities, and that gets them into trouble with humans a lot. Which makes me wonder if they need verbal communication at all; if they had enough mental power, they could insert thoughts directly into people's minds without having to speak. But in order to be less conspicuous, they speak a verbal language anyway, but they use facial and hand gestures not to replace speech, but to enhance it.
