In Tyl-Sjok, it would be a bit strange, but could be interpreted as `four 9000'. Probably there are sentences were this makes sense. xjun hen il kjox hang (1000 is composed: hen il kjox) But as a single number, it would be garbage, because you need conjunctions when telling a number like that. Further, the exponent is always in front of the mantissa. 1000 = hen il kjox (`3 powers 10' == 10 to the 3rd power) 4 = xjun 9 = hang and = wng 4009 = hen il kjox xjun wng hang 3 power 10 4 and 9 4900 = hen il kjox xjun wng kul il kjox hang This looks more like the English system, right? There are also alternative forms where only the first exponent is mentioned, then the ciphers are listed: 4900 = hen il kjox xjun hang 1000 4 9 4009 = hen il kjox xjun tjen tjen hang 1000 4 0 0 9 This looks more like Chinese then. **Henrik
