I confess I'm confused. My own personal twists have to do with episodes
of depression, attempts to induce multiple-personality syndrome in
myself, and a couple years' flirtation with the occult (I grew disgusted
with it pretty quickly, though it remains fascinating source materials
for science fantasies, and apologies to those who do believe in occult
things--I just can't reconcile it with my own worldview).
The closest I've come, I think, are suicide attempts--this sensation that
the world is crystallizing around me, that moments are running by like
sharpened facets. And I often escape into the worlds of my
story-characters, because their pain is safer than my own.
I did find your narrative evocative, though, in a way that I can't
articulate. I get images of flight and clipped wings and vast expanses
of stars and falling skies. (For a writer-aspirant I'm sometimes pretty
darn hopeless at expressing myself.) May you explore far, far realms.
