My brother, me, and a friend of ours once invented a game called
"Baboon", which is somewhat like a monkey-in-the-middle version of
kickball. There are three zones, with two "nomads' lands" (sic) between
the zones, and the point of the game is to kick the ball from your zone,
through the baboon zone and into the other nonbaboon's zone, where it is
then their responsibility to *stop* the ball inside their zone. If the
person being baboon stops the ball in the baboon zone, then the person
whose zone the ball was in last has to switch and becomes the baboon.
