The moods of translation

I've just bought _Discusión_, a book with essays by
J. L. Borges. As usual, it's crowded with philosophic
questions. [Roger, have you read it?] If you can get
it, I recommend it highly, especially (since this is
part of what we do) a short essay on translation, which
is called _Las versiones homéricas_ -- it's about the
different moods of translation, focusing on examples
of the Odissey by different authors, some literal,
some searching for what is beyond the actual words,
along with some reflections on the impossibility of
a 'total translation'.

For those who know, also, there are a couple of studies
about Walt Whitman, and another couple on Flaubert. So
well written, I have to say, that you can enjoy them
even if you don't have a clue about either.
