Yes; or in clay, and baked in the embers of a fire. I did a menu for
a wayside inn (chalked on the wall) that featured _brychie hovin_
"in-a-crust hedgehog". It's served as a kind of terracotta ball.
Break it open, and the prickles and skin (as well as any parasites,
nobody likes baked lice) stay in the crust.
