I would also recommend the recent book
_Classifiers:_A_Typology_of_Noun_Categorization_Devices_
by Alexandra Aikhenvald, if you're interested in a language device used
in many non-European languages.
Another interesting (but more specialized) book is
_Typological_Studies_in_Negation, ed. Peter Kahrel and Rene Van Den Berg.
It is a collection of papers that describe in detail the strategies various
languages use for different kinds of negation. There is a wide variety of
languages covered.
