Well, mine excludes @ and & ... In fact, & was once considered the last
letter of the alphabet. (I would also be inclined to consider the dot in
email address as not punctuation, but the dot as a decimal point is...)
Wikipedia's definition is close to mine:
Punctuation marks are written symbols that do not correspond to
either phonemes (sounds) of a spoken language nor to lexemes
(words and phrases) of a written language, but which serve to
organize or clarify written language.
That simply leaves ?, which actually looks close enough to the IPA glyph
that before complaints about it (i.e., <?>) can be entered, I think we
have to deal with the IPA symbol too...
But I'm more concerned with grouping punctuation (i.e. brackets of all
shapes and families) so maybe I shouldn't be talking here :)
