In the *...* convention, that would be *then* :))) . Although "once upon a
time" gives to me the idea that it happened *here*, but in another time,
probably a far past, where magic and fantasy ruled the world. Maybe it's due to
the French equivalent, which uses "to be" in the imperfect tense: "il était une
fois". Still, if we have *here* and *there*, why not *now* and *then*? :))
Interestingly it gives a nice way to justify the presence of such pronouns, if
the stories of the people who speak Maggel all tend to happen in a time and
place that is "out of their world", litterally... Mmm... food for thoughts...
