OT: Language learning software?

Wondering... does anyone have recommendations for software that
teaches you Language X?

Specifically, I'd like to brush up on my Japanese, Arabic, and
Russian; I already have some knowledge of all of them, of course, so
that helps.

But what irritates me about most programs is they are very, ah,
low-level; they don't often explicitly teach to my analytical mind, or
do the opposite mistake and expect me to mass-memorize lists. It'd be
nice to have something that I can deal with as someone who does know
some linguistics and likes to think in terms of patterns and rules and
etc., but not totally dry.

So... any suggestions?
