My Spanish-of-the-Future Spanish called "Pa=F1uelo" from Hispanuelo
(I know it sounds like handkerchief but it's supposed to... :-)
the H sound of the "j" has disappeared, the "ll"=3D"ly" is always "y" als=
o
has a lot of "s" dropping at beginning and ending... "rr" is turned into
"gh"
an "r / l" confusion and a lot of dipthongs
o>ue and e>ie ... verbs tend to end in -e=E1 ...
But anyway, about Eric's question on the unlikelyhood that the
D will disappear... it is true that this soft D has disappeared in
many words... those ending in -ado>-=E1o, -ada>-=E1, and -dad>-d=E1
but ciudad is already sounding like syu-d=E1 and the "y" sound
is pretty weak. I don't think that the D in ciuDad will drop like
the final one however.
The Hispanuelo Colony is established in the Centauri Block
under the Auspices of the Free Interstellar Cooperative
in Hispanuelo "Cubatiba Tetel=E1 Libe". There is an ongoing
guerrilla war backed up by a Confederation of Exchange Partners
that supports the Front for the Liberation of Hispanuelo and
its Satellites, known as "Flechas". Recently a "Trades
Docking Port" was nuked by the Flechas, who have vowed to
make the Colonies free or unlivable, the "Cubatiba" backed
govm't has implemented a state of alarm and martial law
throughout the Centauri Block.
