Incidentally, I just noticed that my pronunciation changes slightly
with context. The common noun "plaza" is as above, with the /æ/;
likewise if it's the "category" part of a proper noun as in "Stantom
Plaza". But when it's the "selector" part of a proper noun, as in
"The Plaza (Hotel, Theatre, Casino)", then it's /'plaz@/ instead.
