Here is a list of the scripts found in Unicode 3.2, and my classification
of them. Numbers refer to chapters in the Unicode 3.0 book as amended
by UAX #27 (Unicode 3.1) and UAX #28 (Unicode 3.2) available at www.unicode.org.
7 European scripts
Latin, Greek, Cyrillic, Armenian, Georgian, Runic, Ogham, Old Italic,
Gothic: all alphabets
8 Middle Eastern scripts
Hebrew, Arabic, Syriac, Thaana: all abjads
9 South and Southeast Asian scripts
Devanagari, Bengali, Gurmukhi, Gujarati, Oriya, Tamil, Telugu,
Kannada, Malayalam, Sinhala, Thai, Lao, Tibetan, Myanmar, Khmer,
Tagalog, Hanunoo, Buhid, Tagbanwa: all abugidas
10 East Asian scripts
Han: morpho-syllabic script
Hiragana: syllabary
Katakana: syllabary
Hangul: featural alphabet
