As Nik said, there are about 150-200 current and former subscribers,
with a constantly shifting 'core' group of regular posters, and a large
number of lurkers. The list has been around for quite a long time,
as these things go: I joined a little over seven years ago, and it was
already well-established by then. It's mostly an extremely friendly
list, with the odd (in both senses) flare-up on some completely off-
topic issue. (The most recent such flare-up centred on the question
of whether feminists are evil thought-police out to destroy the
traditional family, with all but one participant expressing the opinion
that no, actually, they're not).
